How to get the most out of your blog posts
Blogging is such a powerful tool to get eyes on your website because ultimately, you’re offering free valuable content and who wouldn’t want that?
BUT…if you blog, you also know that blogging is hard and for those who do it, know very well that it is also VERY time consuming. Why put all that effort into blogging only to notice that it’s no longer relevant after one day?
I blog twice a week and I don’t know about you, but I want to make sure that my blog is being seen by as many people as possible and not just once. I make sure that my blogs are getting as much traction because the more traction = the more eyes your website is getting, win-win, right?
Some of the ways that you can make sure that your blogs are getting more than their 15 minutes of fame is by:
Sharing your blogs on Pinterest is what will get people reading your blogs. Not only that but it will bring a huge influx of traffic to your website. Most of my traffic is coming from Pinterest, yes use it to your advantage.
Here’s the trick though, don’t just share your blog once on Pinterest. Re-share your blogs multiple times on there. A great tool to use is Tailwind where you can schedule out your content, so you don’t waste your precious time doing it! It’s absolutely amazing.
Make Pinterest your best friend when it comes to sharing your blogs it will get the eyes on the prize and will make blogging worth it. I mean why are you blogging anyways? To get eyes on your website or something of that sort, correct? Then share your hard work not just once or twice, 10 times or more!!
CREATING ENTICING GRAPHICS
Think about this like you would with Instagram. When you go on the app and your scrolling what is the first thing that catches your eye? Images correct? If that’s true for you it’s most likely true for your viewers as well. Creating graphics that will grab people’s attention is something that will get people to click and read your blogs.
So, along with writing your blog make sure that you have a graphic accompanying it that will complement your blog.
ENABLING PINTEREST SHARE BUTTONS
This is easy to enable on Squarespace. Simply go to Marketing > Pinterest Save Buttons choose where you want those buttons to be enabled and voilà. This is great because if someone is browsing through your website, they can easily share your blog to Pinterest.
SHARING YOUR BLOGS ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
Something else that will get people to see your blog is if you share them to other social media platforms. I frequently share my blogs on my Business Facebook page amongst other pages like my own personal one as well as LinkedIn.
I will also create a blog graphic for my Instagram that way I can share it the day I publish my blog on my Instagram story. Something else I will do is share a new Instagram post and talk about the new blog.
Some time saving tips:
1. Try to schedule out your blogs in advance so it doesn’t feel overwhelming to do everything the day of. I will usually write my blogs in advance (peep the ‘usually’ life happens, everyone so it’s not always possible) but this does help take time off my hands, so I can spend more time doing what I’m supposed to be doing.
2. I also have premade blog templates that I save and every time I create a new blog post all I have to do is change the text and that’s it. This saves a lot of time in that I don’t have to be creating a new graphic every single time and it also shows consistency throughout my blogs on my website.
