At this point we all know that testimonials are crucial for a business to be able to thrive. I mean what would life be without Yelp, Amazon or if Sephora didn’t have thousands of women reviewing products?

I’m guilty. I’ve sat there for over 30 minutes reading reviews on why I should buy a pretty laptop case on and how beautiful it looks on the laptop, or how it broke within a week. Eeeeeek, now I’m having a mid-life crisis and don’t know whether I should *buy it or not*. The point?

Well, reviews are extremely important, and they truly do influence a person’s decision on whether they want to work with you or not and if you don’t have any on your website then what could people really see? Sure, they can see your portfolio, because a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of an actual client create a lasting impact which can help solidify a person’s decision.

Sure, there are many different and other simpler ways you could display your testimonials, but I found that displaying them in carousel form gives your users the option to browse through several different reviews at once, because they’re all there for them to see.

STEP 1

Go to your Not Linked section and select Blog as the type of page. Go ahead and name it “Testimonials.”

STEP 2

Once you’ve created the Testimonial Page click on the plus sign as if you were creating a blog post.

STEP 3

Under the Content tab I name the post title as “Testimonial”

STEP 4

Go to the Options tab and paste your testimonial where it says Excerpt. I like changing the styling of the testimonial by bolding and italicizing some words. Click save when you’re done. You want to repeat Steps 1-4 for each testimonial you have.

STEP 5

Go back to the page where you want to display your testimonials and select Edit Page.

STEP 6

Insert the Summary Block and select “Testimonials” which should be under Blog.

STEP 7

Go to the Layout tab and select Carousel, I usually delete the Header Text, Aspect Ratio should be Auto, Items per row should be 1. I also like to center my text.

STEP 8

Go to the Display tab and select the number of items you want to display. Deselect Show Title, Show Thumbnail, and Show Read More Link and leave Show Excerpt checked off. Everything else in the settings should just be left as is! Once you’ve done this hit save and your testimonials should be displaying in carousel form. See photo below for reference.
