How to add Pinterest board covers to your Pinterest account
If you’re actively using Pinterest for your business, it’s important to have all elements on brand and one of those elements is having Pinterest board covers.
If you’re new and you’re wondering what those elements are I wrote a Beginner’s Guide to Pinterest that could help you get your Pinterest account from average to standout.
Let’s get started!
You have the option to create Pinterest Board Covers on Canva or in Photoshop.
I’m going to be using Canva for the sake of DIYselfers.
Start by clicking on Create a Design and on the top right corner click Use Custom Dimensions.
I went ahead and did 600x600 pixels.
You have several options here, you can either upload an image you already have such as a texture or you can use a solid color from the Canva color palette. You want to make sure that the color you choose is on brand.
Once you have your background image in place you can start adding text. In order to have your Pinterest Account to be cohesive you want to make sure you’re naming your Pinterest board covers with the same name as your Pinterest board name.
Choose a font, Canva offers a great selection of free fonts.
Be sure to center your text once you’ve typed up the Pinterest Board name by clicking on the text box and lining it up with the Canva alignment ruler (the ruler shows up on its own so just drag it towards the middle and it will guide you to the right place).
You also have the option to change your text color by clicking at the top toolbar.
Now you want to make sure you’ve downloaded your image. Click where it says Download at the top. Make sure your image is in JPG form and click Download.
Go to your Pinterest Account.
Click on the Board you want to add the Pinterest Board Cover to.
Click on the Plus sign to Create Pin.
Add the adequate information for the Pin and your website URL if you have one and choose the Pinterest Board of the same name.
Click on the pencil at the top to edit your board.
Click Cover > Change.
Find the Pinterest Board Cover that you just added by using the left or right arrows.
Click Save Changes.
That’s it! You want to repeat the steps above to create Pinterest Board covers for all your Pinterest Boards.
