How to add a gold foil texture to your text using Illustrator
Hey everybody! I wanted to show a cool way to add some color to your text. This is a great tip to learn if you’re looking to create a unique logo. I will be showing you how you can add gold foil to your text using Illustrator!
Make sure you have access to Illustrator because this is where all the magic will happen. Once you have chosen the font of your choice we can move to the next step which is using the gold foil to your text.
You will need a gold foil to get started. If you don’t have a gold foil no worries! I provide one for free!
Let’s get started!
Make sure you have your gold foil handy.
Start out by creating a document in Illustrator I chose mine to be 1000x1000 pixels.
Pick the font of your choice.
Type out the text you wish to foil in gold.
Next step is to add the gold foil texture.
Click File > Place
Most times you’ll notice that gold foil textures are extremely large so make it a tab bit smaller but make sure that it is still covering your text.
Once that’s done, right click on the gold foil texture and scroll down to Arrange and click on Send to Back.
Select both the text and the gold foil texture and right click and select Make Clipping Mask.
Now you can export your image in either JPEG or PNG form. Use PNG if you wish to have a transparent background.
Quick tip: If you have any other textures you wish to use that’s also possible all you have to do is follow the same steps!
