If ya haven’t noticed yet, I design Squarespace websites! Yup, I spend most of my time on the backend of people’s websites and I love it. 🤓 Which is why I’ve gotten to know the ins and outs of Squarespace and what it’s capable of and I’m here to share some cool things you can do on Squarespace. Roll out the red carpet...are you ready?!

1. Change the device view

This one’s pretty cool and a huge plus when I’m designing websites. You’ll find this feature to be very useful if you’re designing your own website as well.

You can change the device view by hovering over the top of the site preview. You are able to preview how your site appears on desktop, mobile and tablet view.

I love this because it allows me to preview the website I’m working on through different views.

There are some drawbacks to this feature as it’s not always accurate. So, if you’re designing your own website, I would recommend you check yourself through your tablet or mobile device.

2. Add an Announcement Bar

This next feature is client favorite. Through your Squarespace website you are easily able to share an announcement with your visitors. It’s probably going to be one of the first things they’re going to see so make it short and sweet but make sure your announcement packs some punch–to get people to click on it. DUH!

This is how you do it. Go to your Main Menu Panel and find Marketing > find Announcement Bar. Make sure the announcement bar is enabled and be sure to add a URL link to where you want your visitors going.

Tip: If you want to change the styling elements of the announcement bar go to Design > Site Styles and either type in ‘announcement bar’ in the search bar of the Site Styles or click on the actual announcement bar.

3. Add a Promotional Pop-Up

This next one is very useful if you’re wanting to grab your visitor’s attention by signing up to your newsletter or it can also be used for an upcoming freebie or course you’re launching.

You can add a Promotional Pop-Up by going to Marketing > Promotional Pop-Up

They make it easy for you to change all the content and styling options right then and there. Choose what action you want people taking, add your content, select display and timing preferences, and change the styling of your pop-up.

4. Enable Pinterest Save Button

You can easily enable your Pinterest Save buttons for your Squarespace websites. These appear when hovering over images on your website. You also have the ability to select the size of the button and the shape of the Pinterest button.

You can enable the Pinterest Save Button by going to Marketing > Pinterest Save Buttons.
