3 different freebies you could offer to grow your email list
You’ve heard it plenty of times and as much as you’d wish it went away it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I’m talking about email marketing. It’s *still* one of the most powerful tools we have for marketing our services or getting the word out there for something important. What other marketing tool will allow you to pop up in anyone’s inbox?
Of course, it’s one thing knowing the power of email marketing and another knowing how to grow your list and most importantly how to USE it to your advantage.
There’re so many different things you could be implementing on your website in order to grow your email list and they’re small tweaks that you could simply change as soon as you read what they are.
1. Do a Giveaway
I’m not gonna sit here and pretend I don’t like free stuff because c’mon let’s be real, who doesn’t?! Let me just say, if it’s free, it’s me 😉 and I guarantee you that will apply to 99% of the population.
This is a dead giveaway for freebie, pun intended. Offer something of value that you usually sell to one lucky email subscriber and watch your email list grow.
For example, I sell Squarespace Templates but every time I launch a new template, I allow people to subscribe to my newsletter in order to be qualified to win the new template!
Be smart with your giveaway, especially if it has a lot of value. Have the giveaway entry open for about a week and announce the winner at the end.
Use your social media in order to announce the giveaway that way it will also gain traction and you could get more subscribers coming from your social media platforms.
2. Create a Free Downloadable
This could come as a checklist, ‘how to’ tutorial, any type of content really. If you pack it with value and your audience is interested in learning more about the freebie, I guarantee this will be a clear winner for getting people to subscribe to your list.
I have a couple of freebies that I offer to my audience and they have the opportunity to choose which freebies they wish to have delivered in their inbox.
Downloadables are great too because once you create the freebie it can be used to gather email subscribers forever.
3. Offer a ‘Free Audit’
This means you are allowing your audience to use your knowledge in order for them to be better equipped with that task. This could essentially be a free social media audit, free website audit, free copywriting audit, free legal audit etc.
I’m not saying spend countless hours doing this in order to grow your email list. You could offer 5 slots to 5 lucky email subscribers that could really use your help!
One thing is offering the freebies but don’t forget to place them in areas of your website where your audience will be able to find them and eventually sign up. Don’t hide your freebies, have them front and center on home page, on your blog page, and anywhere else where you get significant traffic through.
You know your audience the best so implementing your freebies right in front of your audiences’ eyes will get your email list growing in no time!
